Guidelines For Authors

Since 2001, Machinery Lubrication has been the standard for machinery and process lubrication and lubricant professionals around the world, with informative articles and real case studies from industry Machinery Lubrication-India (MLI) not only includes articles from international authors but also have local content and news contributed by Indian authors from industry and academia. It is designed for lubrication professionals, lubricant manufacturers and research scientists.

The mentioned guidelines are intended to help the authors in the preparation of manuscripts for publication in MACHINERY LUBRICATION INDIA.

Aim & Scope

We cover all aspects of machinery lubrication like lubrication fundamentals, lubrication basics for machinery designers/engineers/operators, best practices for lubricant storage and handling, lubrication process development and lubricant analysis and interpretation. It is designated for lubricant formulators, manufacturers, sellers and buyers. Designers/engineers who formulate or specify lubricants will find the technical articles very informative. Topics like lube and coolant management, oil filtration, filtration equipment and testing and interpretation are also covered in this publication.

Subject to review and qualification as given below, MLI will accept papers for publication from prospective authors covering any of the above disciplines.

Submitting Manuscripts

Not every article submitted for consideration will be peer-reviewed. Manuscripts accepted for peer review are sent to selected Editorial Board members to coordinate the reviews. Articles/case studies that are promotional, poorly written, excessively long, insufficiently documented, not properly illustrated will likely be rejected. Reviewers may request revisions to the article before publication. If the article/case study is already published in any other publication, it should be stated to the Editorial Board with the name of the publication and date of publish.

Essentials of Manuscript Submission

  • Manuscripts must be in English and linguistically correct. Extensive use of not generally accepted acronyms should be avoided.

  • The manuscript should be submitted in MS-Word format using the same font. The content must be arranged properly with the title of the article, introduction, discussions, conclusions, tables, figures with captions, etc.

  • The text of the manuscript should not be repetitive and should confine only to the scope of the subject matter, normally an article should be limited to a maximum of 5,000 words. The minimum word count should be 600 words.

  • All publications cited in the text should be presented in a list of references following the text of the manuscript.

  • The author's name must be mentioned at the end of the article/case study with his/her e-mail id.
